Supplier development conference

Ayvel was tasked with creating a social media campaign for the CCBSA Annual Supplier Development Conference in 2018.

The CCBSA conducts an inaugural annual Supplier Development Conference as a key milestone event and forms part of CCBSA’s commitment to a series of public interest conditions attached to the establishment of B-BBEE. The event is primarily aimed at attracting black-owned, high growth potential SMME delegates from a variety of industries.

The aim of the social media campaign was to target the correct target audience to generate interest in the event and to motivate Black-owned SMME delegates to register to attend the event to grow CCBSA’s supplier base throughout the country.

We identified the platforms most relevant to our target audience and strategically placed artwork where it would be the most effective and would produce the highest return on investment rate.

The platforms identified to gain the most traction for the social media campaign consisted of:

  1. Facebook advertising
  2. Instagram promoted posts
  3. Twitter promoted posts
  4. Linked In sponsored posts

The content was created around three pillars. The first pillar consisted of enticing, interesting content to motivate the viewer to want to know more. The content had interesting facts relevant to the SMME’s and gave the viewer an insight into the helpful information and interesting points that would be discussed on the day.

Our second pillar consisted of a collection of artwork promoting the speakers that will be delivering a talk on the day. This content was beneficial as the speakers were all successful thought leaders and innovators who are all proudly South African business owners and entrepreneurs that potential attendees would gain helpful insight from.

The third pillar for the social media campaign consisted of artwork focussed on catching the attention of the viewer. This collection of artwork had the relevant details about the event such as the event name, venue, the date, and of course the official event logo. The aim of this collection was to remind the potential attendees to save the date.

We scheduled the campaign to run from Tuesday to Friday as strategically, these were the days our target market was the most active on the relevant platforms and enabled us to get the highest rate of impressions, engagement and awareness.
